Improving Our Home Safety

Every home has its quirks, but a few years ago I realized that my home was especially quirky. It seemed like no matter what we did, we just couldn't keep our electrical system working well, and it was super frustrating. Some outlets wouldn't work, and others were spotty at best. Sometimes all of the outlets would work. Other times the fuse would blow when we were least expecting it. It was really frustrating, but fortunately, a local electrician came to our aid and helped us to make things better. This blog is here to help any homeowner to know when they need professional help with their electronics.

Are People Driving Through Your Commercial Gate And Lock? What To Change Now

If you currently have a commercial gate that someone drove through and damaged, and you aren't sure what the best way to prevent the problem from happening again is, you want to talk with a metal gate and fencing repair professional. This is a great time to be able to improve security since you already have to fix the gate. Here are different things that you can incorporate when you have the gate and the fence fixed, to help improve security and to prevent this problem from happening again.

One Large Side Opening Gate

If you currently have a system that opens with two doors, so you are depending on the two doors to stay together, and it makes it easier for someone to get through. Go down to a one gate door system, so you only have to worry about one side getting damaged if someone is trying to break the lock, and so it has a solid metal frame all the way throughout, no gaps or openings in the middle.

In the Ground Stakes

Have a component on the gate and in the fencing that pushes a pole or part of the gate into the ground, so if someone tries to drive through the gate they are resisted by the piece that is deep into the soil. The gate won't slide against the road or surface, and instead it won't be able to move because it's anchored deep below.

Electric Security Wiring

Have an electrical wire ran through the fence as a security feature. With this wiring the fence should be able to:

  • Sense motion and movement
  • Alarm when the gate is opened
  • Produce an electrical current

If you want the fence to have some voltage when people try to touch it, you will have to see if you can get that type of fencing in the area, for the protection of the community.

If people try to drive through your commercial gate after hours because you are trying to keep it shut with a padlock and chain, it's time to make some improvements so you don't have to worry about any other problems. There are a lot of different ways that you can make the gate more durable, and so people can't get through the gate, but you have take the time to meet with a professional, such as from Double D Electric , to go over the options, and to invest the money.
